PROOFING GUIDELINES

Proofing, in our system, is a simple process for a publisher. When you send in your digital files, we assemble them in our templates. A PDF is produced, and we will send you copies of the PDFs for preliminary checking ASAP. We try to fix as much as we can right then and there in that part of it, as it costs us nothing but time to make a fix and re-do the PDF at this stage. If there are any time-consuming file changes needed, it will be up to the publisher to perform them, we will try to teach you info if you do not know it. If your fixing the files is not possible, and we have to do it, we will give you an estimate of the cost of having us do it. We don't want to soak anyone, but our time is worth $$ as much as yours is. We have set up a system that makes it possible to cut large parts of the pre-production costs of making a comic out of the process here, by making sure we have printable files before we go to the printer.

Once we're happy with the PDF, the printer would run a proof copy if you have not waived it, and mails it to your address within a few days. You then check the proof for any flaws. If anything at all has changed or needs changing, we will work with you to get your files exactly the way the printer wants them so that we know they will print correctly, but hopefully we have already identified and fixed 99% of things, because at THIS stage, there may be costs we can't avoid in fixing. Rates for fixes after a proof will vary by the order's needs, and which of our associated printers we are taking the order to. We highly recommend that, until you are comfortable with our system, and we're confident that your PDF stage fixes fix all issues withy our files, that you do get the proof. If you waive the physical proof, any errors in the printing that have not been caught and fixed are considered APPROVED BY YOU, and you cannot come back and blame us for them, there can be no refund or recourse, Approving a proof means that you are happy with how your files will print, and so does waiving the proof.
