Don’t Let Tomorrow Come

Give me the quiet peace – of being left alone
let no one disturb the slumber of my raging heart
as time passes slowly by – and moss grows on the stone
know that it’s symbiotic world will be torn apart
and tonight – as the stars burn out one by one
in the fading light – all will be undone
ashes to ashes now – don’t let tomorrow come

So where’s the stolen hope – of being free again
please don’t ask me how I am I could cry
as time passes slowly by – I think I’m escaping then
it returns that helpless feeling and I don’t know why
so tonight – as the stars burn out one by one
just tell me it’s alright – it’s over and done
in the fading light – as I’m drifting off to sleep
tell me I’ve earned the rest – don’t let tomorrow come

I don’t want to wake up to find the waking world the same
on a roller coaster emotion ride it must be a game
give me the quiet peace – of being left alone
the unthinking ways we all hurt the feelings of our friends
step on this one’s toes to help another I’m afraid it never ends
as time passes slowly by – and moss grows on the stone
let tonight – as the stars burn out one by one
be the end of the fight – I just don’t care who has won
make it right – as we watch the setting sun
ashes to ashes now – don’t let tomorrow come
tell me I’ve earned the rest – don’t let tomorrow come
I have past every test – don’t let tomorrow come
Kill me – kill me – don’t let tomorrow come
won’t someone kill me – kill me in my sleep
